Topics

Group prompts into themes with their own schedule and AI platforms.

A topic is a group of prompts around one theme, for example "best crm for small agencies" or "emergency plumber Munich". Topics own the schedule, the AI platforms, the prompt language and the market, so structure topics the way you want to read results: one market segment or question complex per topic.

Creating a topic

Open a brand and add a topic. A topic has:

  1. Name and description, for your own orientation
  2. Prompt language: the language your prompts are written in (German, English, Italian, French, Spanish or Dutch). Prompts reach the AI platforms exactly as written and the platforms answer in that language. It also sets the Google language for AI Overviews and the language of prompt suggestions and keyword mining.
  3. Market: the country, and optionally the city, that searches are performed from
  4. Frequency: how often the topic runs
  5. AI sources: which platforms receive the prompts

Market

The market is where the AI platforms search from, independent of the prompt language. An English topic for a client in the United Kingdom uses language English and market United Kingdom.

SEOAI sends the market to ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity as the user's approximate location and uses it as the Google location for AI Overviews. Gemini is not location-aware today.

The city is optional and only matters for local prompts such as "seo experte hamburg". Set it for local businesses; leave it empty for national or international brands.

For Google AI Overviews the city is matched against Google's own list of places when you save the topic. English and local names both work (Cologne or Köln, Munich or München). A city that cannot be matched, for example a district or a misspelling, is kept as text for the AI platforms, but Google searches from the country instead. The topic page shows the matched Google location next to the market, or a note that the city could not be matched.

Answers on chatgpt.com can still differ from tracked answers. The consumer apps use their own model versions, personal memory and, for local prompts, a map widget that is not available through the API. SEOAI tracks what the platform returns for a user in your market without personalization.

Frequency options

  1. Manual only: runs happen only when you press Track Now
  2. Once: a single scheduled run
  3. Weekly and Monthly: available on every plan
  4. Daily: available on Pro and Agency

The schedule card on the topic page shows the next and last run. The scheduler checks schedules continuously and enqueues due runs on its own.

AI sources

Select the platforms per topic: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, provided credentials exist for them. Gemini is marked with its weight because every Gemini execution counts twice toward your quota.

Google AI Overviews have a special rhythm: prompts where Google shows no AI Overview are re-checked weekly instead of daily, and return to the normal schedule as soon as an AI Overview appears.

Track Now

The Track Now button queues an immediate run of the topic. Three things can hold it back, and the interface tells you which:

  1. A run for this topic is still in progress
  2. The manual cooldown has not elapsed yet: 24 hours on Free, 15 minutes on Starter, 5 minutes on Pro and Agency
  3. Too many runs in flight across your workspace
Track Now needs at least one active prompt and one selected source. Quota is consumed by platform executions; runs on your own API keys never count.
